Why does the hose behind my dryer keep crushing?

Usually because the dryer sits too close to the wall. Most laundry closets in Denver townhomes leave only a few inches. The hose folds, lint catches in the fold, and drying time doubles. White vinyl transition hose makes it worse. Vinyl kinks flat and stays flat. Foil flex holds a shape but tears at the clamp. Both are transition hose only. Replacement means getting the dryer out first. Gas units need the flex connector checked before anything moves. In older bungalows and ranches the floor behind the dryer is often original and scratches easily. The new hose should run as short and straight as the space allows.
